$10.50+1 NLHE super sat for the $1000 main event of the WCOOP. 567 entrys, top 5 get seats, 6th gets $703.50.

Its the first hand of the final table, and your hero has 50k. Other stacks are 73, 151, 39, 163, 155, 26, 63, and 131. The blinds are 2000/4000 with a 200 ante.

Its folded to me in the cutoff and I have two nines. The button has 73, SB 163, BB 155. I raise to 15k. Button folds. SB makes a minimum reraise to 26k. Having played with the SB on the 2nd to last table I know he's a bit "nutty". BB folds.

What now?

If you're reasonably sure that he's got an overpair, you've got to let it go right now. That leaves you short, but hey, you were short anyways.

At best, he's got two overcards, and you're gambling. At worst, you're a huge dog against an overpair.

That "minimum re-raise" sounds to me like he's trying to suck you in.

If it's me, I dump.

(Then again, if it were me, I would've raised more before the flop, and felt committed, and called, and got broke, I'm sure.)

I'd push it all in. He has the big stack and therefore could very easily have any 2 figuring you on a shorter stack have a bubble survival mindset where you will fold with almost anything unless it's aces.

Then again I'm not a great NL player /images/graemlins/smile.gif I often disregard survival when I have decent cards and think my opponent is making a move. It really comes down to your read on this guy and if you figure he figures he can get you into survival mode with his 26K raise.

I decide to push in, he calls and turns over AKo, I lose the 'flip and bubble out. /images/graemlins/mad.gif

Would be interested in hearing other opinions from tourny vets.
