watching TV last night (flipping through, heard Mr. Spock, and thought it might be In Search of ...) and the history channel had this program about the jewish uprising in the roman empire about 65 a.d.

the amazing thing (amazing because i didnt realize i was so ignorant) was that

a) before the jews were crushed and the temple burned, the jewish priests were a hereditary position. (i think maybe i might have known about this in a roundabout way)

b) before the jews were crushed and the temple burned, animal sacrifices were made. after this pivotal event, prayer replaced this.

b2) jesus (he was a jew after all) engaged in such animal sacrifices.

i guess it was b2 that really floored me. i just never thought about it, but it just goes to show how, well, you know.

Organized Religion has always been a scourge on humanity and every other living thing on the face of this earth.

To single out Judaism or Christianity is to limit the scope of the problem.

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

That's all the religion anyone needs.

Isn't religion where our morals came from?

Thou shalt not kill, steal etc..

Man made God..not the other way around.

Man created hell in order to scare the living (pun intended) daylight out of us and force mankind into submission.

Listen to George Carlin's religions tracks. He expounds on religion much more eloquently than I could ever hope to convey.
