How do I pick out a ripe pineapple when I'm at the supermarket?

my question was serious and is in no way related to anything anyone might have posted recently.


I was grocery shopping and I wanted to buy a pineapple but wasn't sure how to pick out the good ones.

See, when 2d pictures what's going on inside your head, that's the kind of thing he thinks you're thinking. It's, like, paranoia.


Poor guy is surrounded by dumb people, who the best connection they can make is "Hey, I bet that Chinese guy knows sumthin' about rice?"


In other words, he thinks that is an "attitude." Whereas that is just an imaginary stereotype, and he is the one with the attitude.


2d getting offended by that, is like a black guy asking me for "watermelon sir," and me handing him a piece with a straight face.

right around the crown of the pineapple, where the spikes are attached to the fruit, the color is the indication of ripeness. if it's green around there, it's not ripe yet. ripe fruit would be paler in color.

I worked at dole as a teenager, so I know about pine, even though I can't stand the stuff. =)

Does Dole still have pineapple plantations in Hawaii? I thought they were all grown in, like, Taiwan now, and other parts of Asia.
