You have to use 2 cards from your hand and 3 from the board... So you did not have the low

Yeah I did, I used the Ac 5s from my hand and the 3d 7s 8s from the board. The ace is lower than his two...

Right???

You're reading the hand backward -- you should start from the highest card and work down, with higher cards breaking ties before lower ones.

So you both had 8 7 but then you had a 5 where he had a 4. So you don't even get to the A vs. 3 showdown; the tie is already broken before you get that low.

This makes sense: if you had 82 versus 43 and the board was 765KJ, your eight high (86542) naturally loses to the seven high (76543) -- just as in Omaha or Hold 'Em Hi any eight high would BEAT any seven high.

This is pretty fundamental stuff in O8 -- back to the drawing board!

8 7 5 3 A is higher than 8 7 4 3 2. The ace doesn't matter. You look at the lowest card. Tie. Then the second lowest card. Also a tie. Then the 3rd lowest card. His 4 beats your 5. Similarly, 8 7 3 2 A is beaten by 8 6 5 4 3.

When I first posted that, I honestly thought that I was in the right, and I wanted to get an answer as quickly as possible...I didn't know which would be quicker.

trust me, the internet poker forum is generally the most read one and will result in the quickest response.

Do you mean UPF, or the internet forum on 2+2. BTW, I didn't mean to put this post under home games, I thought I was posting in "other games" sorry.
