I love anything to do with sick degenerate gambling, but this movie sucked. Hoffman's the best actor around, and I lurv Minnie Driver, but I thought there'd be zero chemistry btwn them, and I was right.
Main problem is that the guy this is based on really was that bland, and his girl was actually that much of an enabling doormat.
John Hurt camps it up a bit as the casino boss, but this movie is really quite boring. Pick up the book, No Limit by Ross, if you're curious. Guy really did embezzle 10 mil Canadian. Hopefully they've put a current epilogue in it.
