1. People that smell bad

2. People that stiff dealers AND ante-beg

3. People that blame the dealer for their losses

4. People that are jolly winners and miserable losers.

5. People that try to get laid at a poker table..*not on a poker table..that wouldnt make this list*

6. People that are forever all-in

7. People that make the game personal

8. People that pick their nose and then complain when I ask for a deck change

9. People that flash cards to your opponents after you've beaten them out of a few pots.

10. People that slow-roll. *A dealer at Harrahs's told a notorious slow-roller..in a very slow southern drawl, "Ya know...I was dealing a private game in Dallas and I seen a guy get shot right between the eyes for doing that." I was laughing so hard they had to pick me up off of the floor.

except for the stinkers and nose pickers those are the people you kinda want at the table. poker would be boring without a bunch of characters at the table. btw does your buddy spm fall into any of those categories.

You go girl (I hate that expression). We miss you at Hollywood. New room, noisy but still have action and whinners. Come see us.

"1. People *who* smell bad."

I really despise this one, but I experience it so rarely that it doesn't make my list.

The guess the only real pet peeve I have in life right now are those *who* talk in movie theaters. So I guess that falls under the heading of "inconsiderate behavior."

Hey Lil' somethin somethin,

How have you been - we miss you so much at Hollywood. Ray is right - one of the best thing about poker is the personalities of the people - and Desire - you are among the most pleasurable people I have ever had the pleasure to play with. (Now-Now!!! - don't let that mind of your wander!!) /images/smile.gif

But I speak nothing but the truth when I say you are sorely missed at Hollywood - I would love to see you around if you ever have the time. Fairbanks on me - and I don't make that offer to just anyone!!

Anyway, I have a few comments next to your list and I have added a few of my own. Hope the response isn't too long - but the subject is very very tempting...kinda like you /images/smile.gif /images/smile.gif /images/smile.gif /images/smile.gif /images/smile.gif /images/smile.gif /images/smile.gif /images/smile.gif /images/smile.gif

1. People that smell bad - 100% AGREE

2. People that stiff dealers AND ante-beg - CHISLERS OF THE FIRST DEGREE

3. People that blame the dealer for their losses - STUPID PEOPLE - NO WAIT, REALLY STUPID PEOPLE

4. People that are jolly winners and miserable losers. - MOST EVERYONE OF THESE IS A LOSER

5. People that try to get laid at a poker table..*not on a poker table..that wouldnt make this list* - NO NO NO COMMENT!! THIS IS ONE OF YOUR TRAPS I AM GOING TO FINALLY BE ABLE TO AVOID /images/smile.gif

6. People that are forever all-in - LIFETIME LOSERS IN THE GAME - LIKE A SNIPER WITH NO BULLETS - NOY REALLY MUCH OF A LONG TERM THREAT

7. People that make the game personal - I GET A WARM FUZZY FEELING WHEN THEY ARE IN THE GAME BECAUSE I KNOW THEY WILL END UP IN TILTSVILLE

8. People that pick their nose and then complain when I ask for a deck change - GEE WHIZ RU YOU DEMANDING /images/smile.gif

9. People that flash cards to your opponents after you've beaten them out of a few pots. - MORE LIKELY THAN NOT IT IS PROBABLY BETTER THEY FLASH CARDS THAN SOMETHING ELSE

- WOULD HAVE LOVE TO HAVE BEEN THERE TO HEAR THAT ONE

A few I would add to my list

* People who always seem to tell you a bad beat story - like it hasn't happened to everyone a gazillion times

* People who always ask/beg to borrow money - I tell them I have a policy of not borrowing moaney or loaning(giving) money in a casino - anyone I would consider breaking that policy for has never really asked me - hmmm what a coincidence /images/smile.gif

* Poker rooms closed on weekends

* Pokers rooms with restrictions such as minimal tables, boarding times, or closing times - mainly due to state laws seemingly designed to piss people off

Anyway, I am sure there are more but cannot think of them right now – hope all is going well for you – drop me an email or better yet - stop on by Hollywood and take me up on the Fairbanks offer.

Just some thoughts…

The fish always holds out hope he will get even on the next hand.

If he knows there isn't going to be a next hand a half hour from now, he will call through anything, every hand up to the cutoff.

Closing for 31 minutes every two hours would guarantee that 1/5th of the time, fish would be absolute cash machines.

But then, I guess the cardroom isn't designed to arrange the rapid transfer of money between fish and sharks, but to perpetuate full games and return business.

So I am thankful for such cutoffs as the state may hand me.

Yes,related to #1 people that smell bad are those who constantly fart especially in smallish crowded rooms. Worse, some people think it's funny and keep on doing it. Enough to make one naseous at this indoor air pollution.

07-13-2002, 10:21 AM
sure thats disgusting, but if the room allows smoking what would be the difference, except that some favor one smell over the other.

07-13-2002, 10:58 AM
How about smokers who constantly set a lit cigarette in the ashtray next to you, and let them burn down to nothing so that the smoke is always in your face. They then get huffy if you ask them to move it.

Good thing here in Vancouver BC, smoking was banned in casinos and clubs about 5 years ago. Before that I used to go out every half hour for a breath of fresh air.

i didn't realize that desire plays in the chi-town area. perhaps i'll get the chance to meet you when i get my bankroll out of the gutter. i haven't played since february!!!!!!!

yeah, now the smokers get to leave the room every half-hour. but don't get me wrong, i am a smoker, and i still prefer non-smoking rooms. cleaner air to play in, and makes me get up from the table regularly, but not too much, and then i smoke less as well...
