Does anyone know if the casinos in Detroit have hold'em games going and if so what are the limits they usually have?

Finally a question I'm capable of answering confidently!!

Greektown Casino in Detroit has a poker room...

They offer Hold'em, 7 Card Stud and Omaha (at least the times I've been there, those were the games they had going). I dont' remember if the Omaha was hi/lo or not.

The only game I've played there was Hold'em. The limits started a $5-10, and I think $15-30 was the biggest game I've seen there (not really sure about that though).

There's also a bad beat jackpot, which I didn't really like, since the rake is already pretty steep on the $5-10 tables ($5 max)...

If you plan on going, you can call ahead to get on the list and hopefully avoid waiting. Visit the website to find the phone #, and they'll give you 30 minutes from the time you call to show up...

Good luck!!

No matter what time of day your arrive, there will be from 1-3 $5-10 hold 'em games going. This is the lowest limit they offer.

There will almost always be a $10-20 game going, but the waiting list is long.

There will usually be a $20-40 round by round going, which is two rounds of hold 'em and one round of Omaha Hi. (Sometimes it is one round of each, depends on what the players agree to play.)

Occasionally, there will be a $15-30 hold 'em game, but this is rare. They do not take a jackpot drop from the $15-30 or $20-40 games.

There is almost never an Omaha HiLo game going any more.

Last time I was there in March, they had a pot-limit Omaha game going, which seems to be fairly regular (as in, weekly or so, not every day). I can't remember if it was hi-lo, but with all the arguing going on, I would have guessed it had to be.

I also thought they'd done away with the call ahead list, but maybe not.

Around Christmas time they were saying that the call ahead list would stop in the new year, and I don't know whether they did in fact stop for a while, but it is back now...

I called ahead about two weeks ago, and although I didn't actually end up going, they were accepting call ahead's...

Ah. I was there in March, so they probably stopped it for a while then brought it back due to player demand. Doesn't affect me much, I'm farther then 30 minutes away and my cell phone rots. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
