I usually play the 5-10 with a kill @ $100 at Foxwoods, I do well. I am wondering if I should move up to the 10-20 there, does anyone have any advice about this? As some know the 5-10 w/ kill at Foxwoods is sometimes basically a 10-20 anyway.. thoughts????

JTG can help you with that. As well as the rest of the Foxwoods bullpen.

My advice, take a seat in the game play your best, and take it from there. Invest $800 in the game and take your shot.

You can best answer that question yourself by watching the game for a while from the rail.

thanks for all of the input, i think i will take a little bit of advice from each of you.....

stu: i will watch the game next time i go, since i just got back from there, next weekend.

mg in nj: i will have the confidence and bring my A game, not to mention around 800 bananas to the table, and i'll give it a shot, after watching of course

vehn: i will play good.

Buy in for 3 racks of red. I'm serious /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

p.s. the first time I played $15/$30 I lost 30 bets in 3 hours. Kings cracked 3x. Not to jinx you or anything.

2 months later I took my 2nd shot and won 20 bets in 2 hours /images/graemlins/wink.gif and I'm still there now.

Are you serious? I've played 10/20 at the Mirage, Lake Tahoe, and Reno. I always buy in for one rack of red. I have enough ammo in my pocket to buy three, but what is the advantage to buying in at the start. Usually I use a 20 BB rule for buy-ins, but at this limit one rack of red just seems convenient.

that's more like what i thought,.. i usually go with the 25 bb rule.. in other words, exactly one rack

Yeah I'm serious. 1st off it will make you feel "happy", secure, even though you know if you lose one rack of it you're off your game and its time to leave. Also it tends to projet a false (hopefully) image of a, well, non-solid opponent to your tablemates. I always buy in for 2 racks at $15/$30 and would buy in for 3 regularly if it wasn't for the enforced must-move table that is always going.

But that's just me, I like to have a lot of chips in front of me.

I definitely agree with Vehn here. I have considered changing my standard buy in from 25BB to 50BB. More chips goot. But especially good if you are taking a shot. It will help you relax and not worry so much about the money (a natural reaction as you move up to a new limit).
