what do i know. im just a ham and egger. just curious if the syllables and whatever other rules there are for haiku are observed. (of course i think probably to really be a haiku it has to be in , uh, you know , japanese, but, uh, ...)

I can't remember the official Haiku rules. besides japanese I think Haikus are also supposed to be about nice things like plants and animals and reflections on pond water in the evening. not about global capitalist pigs lying to each other:)

Haik originally had 5,7,5 syllables. They can be about anything, as long as it's short and sweet. Jean Sheppard used to write smoe great ones.

Phat,

I gotta find them. Sheppard has always been one of my favorites. Rmember his PBS series?

The only thing I remember from PBS is the Xmas special. I gets replayed every year or two during the holidays. I used to have a couple of collections of his short stories, but have lent them out one too many times.

What I rally loved were his radio broadcasts from that club (was it the Gaslight?) in greenwich village.
