How many chips in a rack?

Is a "stack" a fixed amount as well?

There are 100 chips in a rack. However, players often refer to "winning/losing a rack" and I'm not always able to translate it to big bets because different casinos will use different chip denominations. In Vegas, you usually play with $1, $5, and $10 chips. However, in Californaia (and other places) $2 and $3 chips are common for lower limit games.

A stack is not a fixed amount.

100 chips are in a rack. The dollar amount depends on the denomination used in the particular game.

A stack is one section of the rack, 20 chips. Sometimes, however, players will refer to a more generic definition of a stack, as a "bunch" of chips, like, "he lost a whole stack of chips on that hand."
