View Full Version : OT: Lazy STT Player

Here's a question just for kicks (sorry if its been presented in some form before):
If there were a hypothetical player with 20% ROI who decided to start sitting out the first two levels of the 20 dollar STT, what would his new ROI be (appx.)
I would guess it still to be around 12 or so.... and I base that on NOTHING...
any ideas?

I would say around 15%....and I base this on nothing.

Depends on the player. Some people are mega pushbots who just play the bubble well but suck postflop.

Some people actually play postflop occasionally and would be hurt more.

I am asking on average - obviously.
Also, if the same plyer sat out level 3, would he still have a positive ROI?

I would say his new ROI would be 0%, and I think that might be too high.

Naw, Raptor did basically this with a reasonable ROI.

i quit frequently sit out lvl 1- 1 1/2 for half my set.. load up 3-4 games, go outside have a smoke, comeback at end of lvl 1 or middle of lvl 2 and load up the other 4-5 games.

I dont think it has much effect on my ROI.

Although every once in awhile I comeback and just barely miss hitting the im back button before my AA is folded.

Well, let's see. I am mostly a pushbotter and only have a VPIP of 5.5 for lvls 1 and 2.
I have about 15% ROI this month between the 11's and 22's.

I was dealt AA, KK, or QQ 144 times which resulted in ~+T27k chips. I'd say that for 550 tournies, that is an extremely important, if not completely arbitrary, amount to my ability to be successful. I'd at least cut my ROI in half without these (which is really an absolute guess, the statistics were just to fool you into thinking I had some extra insight).
