My brother has decided to follow in my footsteps and turn pro. He'll be posting a good deal of hands while he gets his feet wet so please be helpful. I'll be responding to a good deal of them so hopefully we can generate some good discussion on lower buyin thinking. Actually, I'm gonna be no help whatsoever I can tell already. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks.

Sh*t now I gotta go get him another Vida avatar...

Hey folks. I told the ol bro not to sound cocky. He can't help it. Be posting very soon. Later.

The cards will fall randomly but as long as you play perfect poker you will make sh*tloads of money. Now, if you suck... thats a different story. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Your Brother is a pansy-assed Dork who's real lucky that I don't play HU in any serious fashion...Not likely that either one of you could tie Stanzee's shoelaces /images/graemlins/frown.gif

We should have a forum sibling-team championship. unarmed&emaj vs. curtains&jenium vs. giga&7. Anyone else?

Seriously though what I want to see is a nice juicy prop bet between Unarmed & curtains on whose sibling gets to the $215s first.

Awwwwwwwwwww, a little unarmed. Ain't he cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute!

Best of luck bro - of course you know you're in good hands.

(...and yes, he needs an avator pronto)

I guess it's my job to play the father figure, but shouldn't he se if he can win as an amature before going "pro"? Having to live on the results makes learning a bit more stressful. (your brother of all people should know that emaj)

Thats the nice thing about having a brother playing way higher limits. Your bankroll is essentially infinite. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Care to give details of your poker experience? Just so we know where you're coming from.

And welcome. Listen to pretty much everyone who replied to this thread so far. They all know what they're doing. (except skip) /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Been playing off and on for about 2 year. In the last 2 months I've had time spend 4-5 hrs/day working on some books (mostly HOH 1+2, also Super/system, TOP) Also, I've been trying to apply what I've learned on Pokerstars STT with play money. Basically I can spend the majority of the day learning poker strategy....so im ready to give her a shot.

good luck and welcome to the forum. don't take your bro too seriously. learn to separate the stuff that's really important for success in sngs from the things that are important for success at getting good at poker. they're massively different. also, don't be afraid to decide you like non sng poker more than sng poker.

Good luck Jimmy! (Did you kick the crap out of Big Bro when he called you that?)

I'm assuming that you are old enough to do this and have a life that befits a smart young man???

Now you have a bunch of other Big Bros on this forum. But we might pick on you some.

What is odd about that question?

It's a post about how he's going to play poker professionally.

It's like the first on topic post in the whole thread!!!

He's 17 or 18 years old, right? He barely has a background period, let alone a professional background.

?

He said that Unarmed was 2 years older. That means that emaj should certainly have some sort of professional background.

It also means he's quite a bit older than 17, /images/graemlins/blush.gif.

Good point, sometimes I wish I would've focused more on cash games, as the ultimate money making potential there is greater. Then I remember that I get bored easily, and I don't think I could take the grind of the anti-climactic cash game.
