Although I have been skeptical of text messaging in the past, I am starting to realize that it can be a very useful tool in the early stages dating/trying to hook up with a chick. Some of the advantages of text messages are:
- The dialogue is short and sweet
- No awkwardness
- You can respond or not respond to a text messge at your leisure
- You can take your time coming up with something clever and flirtacious to say
- You can send a drunken text message with less danger of saying something stupid than with a phone call

Of course text messaging can become gratutious, but if used in moderation I think it can be a good thing. Chicks seem to really dig the late night night flirtacious text mesages.

Also when you are at work you can txt message people when you are bored. I did that all the time this summer.

OMG GAY! Sure beats making a call during work and making a call during my break.

text messaging is great for pranks too. got a new cell phone a month back, sent a text message to a friend of mine, she called in sick, i sat at her station

me: i sat on your chair, we are now one. hope you feel better soon.
her: who are you??
me: i'm the guy of your dreams, you just don't know it yet.
her: that's creepy, just plain creepy...

i call her to laugh and say IT'S ME! she answers then hangs up. she tells me about it at work the next day and i laugh and show her the msgs on my phone. i get bitch slapped in turn...

ya not sure why OOT seems so anti text-messaging.

Amoung my friends its much easier to get thigns planned.

Send one message to multiple users with a suggestion, receive a bunch of one words answers saying yes or no.

I generally hate text messaging because my phone doesn't fill in the words for me so it takes me forever to respond. most of the time i'd much rather the person just call me. That is, unless it is someone I don't want to talk to

I send approx 600-700 text messages a month....

They are great for the blanket bombardment of 6-8 girls at once...With the same message...very handy....

I assume you follow the righteous path, and never call girls by their name, always 'honey', 'sweetheart' etc.

(I still call my wife 'honey' rather than her name /images/graemlins/grin.gif)

The text messages will be quite vague....

"Hey babe, Hows u ? What you been upto etc...

U busy later today/tomorrow/this week ? U fancy doing something etc...? "

And then I wait for the replies and go from there on an individual basis...It never ever fails...
