First rotation but seems to be relatively tight game for this level - about 3-4 players per flop. Other than that no reads yet.

PokerRoom 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (7 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 9/images/graemlins/club.gif, 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif.
Hero calls, <font color="#CC3333">MP1 raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, CO calls, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB 3-bets</font>, Hero?

I was pretty much following SSH tight game prefop guide here and just called with the 9's - is this too passive here?

I routinely call 1 bet back to me preflop but treat 2 bets back similar to cold calling and almost never call here. Is that to tight???

author of SSHE would recommend raising 99 utg at a 7-handed table.

anyway call.

I would call with 22 in that situation. You are getting 4:1 immediate odds, likely to be closer to 5:1 depending on the action after you. With implied odds you can play that just for set value profitably...

If the players are solid postflop I usually don't raise 9's here, because it's only folding weaker hands that I want to come along.

With that said, I think I call after it's 2 back to me, with a pot this big you will have a lot of people pay you off if you flop a set.

Though I suport my advice I think the Eegah line for 99 is the best line, I just can't seem to pull it off.
It goes: Raise preflop, flop quads.

I raise it up preflop. If comes back to you for one more bet or two it's a definite call. You are getting great odds to flop a set. But maybe it will play out differently if you raise first in.

I think calling or raising is fine either way PF. I might raise this being first to act just to try to get some people drawing to bigger pairs out of the way.

The way that it was played, I think I would fold to the 3-bet.

grunching -

folds.

does SSH really tell you to play here?

heh, after reading the other replies maybe i'm playing too tight.

edit* oops - didn't realise you'd already limped. i guess it's a call.

Yes. Even if it's capped behind you, your implied odds are huge. Just imagine spiking a 9 in the middle of two folks going to war.
