Heads up is a game of reads and rythm in my opinion, but pushing will never be bad here.

I'm not sure you get much in the way of reads and rhythm when you have just over 10bb. I'm pushing this 100% of the time.

You can get a feeling for how they play if you have been paying any attention at all. Eg he's super aggressive and will push over a limp or minraise with a wide range.

i think this is the key here. the read should be more about whether he's the type to call and open push or whether you can act in such a way preflop for him to think pushing against you is a good idea.

if you've been completeing or checking, and he's been pushing over you, i say check. barring that, just push.
