View Full Version : New Year's Resolutions

12-29-2005, 02:31 AM
There was an excellent thread about goals for 2006 already. I hope this isn't repetitive, but I'm focusing here how on how I resolve to achieve those goals.

I recently purchased pokertracker and I am loading all my hand histories into it.

To attain my goals in 2006, I resolve to:

1. Do lots of analysis with poker tracker.
2. Get PokerAceHUD and set that up.
3. Examine my bubble play with a fine tooth comb and with extensive use of SNGPT.
4. Finish up the Harrington books soon and review them.
5. Finish reading Kill Phil and see if I can use any of those strategies to good effect.

I'm not going to talk about my goals here, I already put those in the other thread.

Happy New Year everybody

1. Reduce my underbankrolled shots at high LHE games. They relegate me to the $27's every few weeks.

2. Possibly start keeping stats again and/or get PokerTracker.

3. Get SNGPT and play around with it.

#3 is the only one I'll likely do, but it's nice to dream...

1. Make good decisions.
2. Win enough to buy a new big screen tv.
3. Try to win an entry to high entry($1500+) MTT without losing so much #2 goes out the window.

Dude, a car is the sickest moneysink you'll ever buy. I could live on like $600 a month if I didn't have my car. I'd Jukel the $11s Mon-Wed, play Dragon Quest the rest of the week, make my girlfriend run all the errands...

Ahhh, to dream.

Anyway, didn't we have a 2006 goal thread? Like 2 days ago? I do such a crappy job of sticking to my plans that I'd be embarrassed to write down my goals only to look back and cry about what a lazy sack of [censored] I am. I imagine success rate on these goal threads is under 10%.

1) To eventually realize that a 25% ROI at the $10 and $1250 bankroll is enough to move into the $20's.
2) To play a steady number of SNG's a day (20-40)
3) To get all of my poker books back from friends. (I currently have 3 poker books, and I have bought over 10)
4) To stop comparing my stats to other players and be happy with my results.
5) To continue losing weight. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

1) Quit smoking. It's been a pack/day habit for over 10 years, and I'm sick of myself.

I think that I might have ADD or something, and self-medicate with caffeine and nicotine. I seriously can't concentrate without being jacked up. I might need to pay some guy for a prescription (it's sad that is what going to the doctor equates to nowadays)

2) and all that stuff I posted in the 2006 Goals thread

12-29-2005, 09:05 AM
1) Always pay attention while I play
2) Mess around with SNGPT until I'm the King of the Bubble
3) Read my poker books. I have like 5000 of them and I never read any of them.
4) Travel

The sickness may be caused by something else. /images/graemlins/blush.gif

Try guarana (capsules or tea). It is a natural caffeine. Doesn't spike like coffee or Mountain Dew! I have other remedies for various things (haven't been to a traditional doctor in 14 years), but not the place for then.

I am a classic over/under achiever (no sportsbetting pun intended!). I had the same aversion to writing them down.
After 38 years on this earth, I tell you this:

Write them down! Tell others! It gives added incentive, not added pain.

STT-wise, I'd like to make 1000 strategy posts for the entire year. For those of you who can't do math, that's about 3 a day, or 20 a week. I might kill myself getting there, because I'm wrong a lot, and being wrong will probably be followed up by lots of flaming by citanul and others, but maybe this will help toughen me up instead of crying to mommy all the time as well.

See you more often?,
