Hello All. I am in mid winter break and man, it sucks. I am so bored. All I do is play poker for 426234 hours a day and I'm going to sleep at 8 PM because I'm so bored. So I want to take a trip somewhere.

I live in central Illinois. I would like to take a 1-2 day trip, within 300 miles, and preferably to somewhere with something fun to do. I was contemplating Canterbury but damn, that is a long drive. I am not 21. Also, I will bring a passenger, either male or female, I haven't decided yet (but it mostly depends on who will go with me) so if you have something specific that I might enjoy with a girl then be sure to mention it.

Please do not say Chicago because I've been there twice in the last week. That's right, I went to Chicago on Christmas night. I saw "The Ringer" which is a great Christmas film.

So please help me!!!

Central Illinos!! Springfield here.

I dont know if even 2+2 can even solve the "under 21-nothin' to do" syndrome in this area....guess what?
It doesnt get much better when you turn 21!! Bars get old soon, and the casino is a full tank of gas away.

To answer your question you could go to a 18 and over casino...(I guess if you are over 18) I think there might be some a couple states away. I'm way too lazy to google it and dig through all the online poker sites.....

I live in illnois, I think there is a Horseshoe somewhere within an hour of Chicago.

Edit: oh wait, your not old enough (either am I). Are there any Indian Casinos around here?

Yea, there is a horseshoe (and a couple others) in Gary, Indiana. I go to Northwestern. I haven't heard of any 18+ card rooms nearby...

I went to school in Madison and had the same problem over break.

One year we went to Chicago for the day. We went to the Sears Tower, the Shed, the Hard Rock.

It isn't so much what you do on these trips. It is who you do it with.

OK: Here's you "." and ----------> here's Chicago ".". In between, there's like 100 pool rooms. Go shoot some pool. Win money.

Go to Chicago. Drop your friend's father's vintage car off at the garage. Go to the museum. Go to a Cubs game and catch a foul ball, get on TV. Then go home and jump to the bottom of the pool.

Canterbury's fun, but you're not going to have anything else to do in that area. I don't know that I'd drive that far for it. Unless you've never played B&M, then it might be worth it. Or if you're a chick and interested in the Mall of America.

Being < 21 really hinders things.

I've never been there, but what about a ski trip to Michigan? I have no idea how far of a drive that is for you.

Augie, go to Nashville! It's rediculous and you can drive around and look at the nonsense...go to Dollywood and the Grand Ol' Opry and chuckle. There are some <21 nightclubs with decent rock and/or roll and Vanderbilt chicks are hott and/or smart. Plus, aren't a bunch of 2p2rs already there? OR drive all night and go to Turning Stone / Canada. Up to you.

If you're into college hoops, Illinois plays SE Missouri St tonight. Probably an ass-kicking though. Campus bars in Champaign are 19+ too, but will be dead until new year's eve. Goto Allerton Park and smoke out near the sunchaser. Visit the Lincoln historical stuff if that suits you. Nashville, Memphis, Cincy, and Louisville were common weekend trips for me. All are within 5 1/2 hours of Champaign. OF course, Chicago, St. Louis, and Indianapolis are all close. Enough to do in those cities.

But Nashville is better. Unless he wanted to drive a bit further south to Tunica. But I think we already established that wasn't an option.
