Just had some basic ?'s on what is probably a simple hand. Trying to ramp up on stud, still feel a little lost on some fundamentals.

No great reads because I have only been at the table a short time and don't know anyone. Limited knowledge of villian is he is typical for these stakes. Hasn't shown much agression yet.

Wondering about 4th and 5th specifically. Is it weak to check this behind on 5th after he call's my double raise on 4th? Should I be betting these Kings like a winner until I face resitance?

Standard bet here assuming he'll check behind with to many weaker two-pair hands?

I don’t see any reason to check behind on fifth. If he missed a CR he had a chance to pop you on sixth and didn’t take it. Who knows, he may have forgotten that you completed and now thinks you’re on a flush/straight draw. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah, I’d bet the river.

I’ve played a little Stud on this site and it has the worst players of the sites I play.

unless you think there is a chance he will fold 5th (which there isn't in this case) the check is just fine since your hand didn't improve.

bet the river.

Even though your hand did not improve, it probably didn't need to. This is extremely low-limit stud. You must bet on 5th.

it seems fairly clear that his opponent already has two pair, why else would he call the double raise?

Because this is $.25/.50?

I probably wouldn't let up unless the other guy gave me a reason to.

Cool, I thought I might have missed some value on 5th in the long run by not betting.

As a follow up if I had bet and got c/r'd on 5th do I turn into a calling station trying to hit King's up? Can I lay down unimproved on the river or is the pot too big to give them credit?

Greenage, yeah UB has seemed really soft from my limited stud experience there. I don't even feel I am that great at stud, but feel I have a pretty big edge in the games I have played. Only problem is that there are very few games. Usually at most 1 game of 1/2 - 5/10 often 0 and then a slew of .25/.50 games. However it's the only site I can log into from work and play when I am bored like today /images/graemlins/smile.gif

UB is very soft, don't touch my 3/6 game unless you tell me your name =).

No need for the double raise on 4th necessarily, bet 5th, etc.
