View Full Version : My first post - preflop questions

12-27-2005, 01:31 AM
Hey guys, this is my first post on the omaha board and I have a question about preflop play in full ring games. I understand this depends on ones style of play but I was wondering what a recommended VP$P would be for PLO. I have only played at the very low stakes and tend to limp about 95% of my hands and will raise w. 'premium hands' which I consider big pairs, big double suited (pref. ace high),etc.

My first question is : what type of hands should I limp and my second question is: what types of hands should I raise?

And from what positions, lol thats important too.

Thanks guys

first, no matter how good of a LAG you are, you are seeing too many flops. start tight, loosen up as you get better. try for about 20-30%.

Here's a link to a noob post i made that may help:

I'm about a 34/5 avg. from 2/4-10/20 stakes.

Definitely need to tighten up.

WOW. Usually I catch flack for being the loosest guy in the room and I see about 45% in the $100 buyin.

Most of the PLO games I play in are not raised before the flop (if raised then I tighten up like I play holdem) so I have adapted the theory that if my cards are a little loose then a flop only costs me $1 and if I hit then I can stack off one of the fish. For me this seems to be working and I use my winnings at PLO to feed my MTT/crack addiction.

I think my VP$P is about 25% from PL$25 to PL$400 on Party. I'd be tighter than the majority.
