View Full Version : How do I turn off this firefox option?

"Problem" - Whenever I middle click (click the scroll wheel) firefox runs a google search for whatever I have in the clipboard. I have no desire to use this function and want to turn it off (because I'm always accidently clicking the scroll wheel which is #%^#^#$ annoying).

I've looked through all the options but can't figure it out (I also have the googlebar extention installed and looked there but to no avail).

Anyone know what I'm talking about and how to fix it?

J

Do you have a gestures extension?

I used to, but I uninstalled it...maybe it's somehow a leftover? Maybe I should just uninstall/reinstall?

The extentions I have are: adblock, BBCode, DictionarySearch, Tabbrowswer Preferences, IEView, googlebar, and forecastfox.

I would try running firefox with the -profilemanager parameter and create a new profile, if it still does it with the new profile, it's not an extension.

There's some middlemouse.* parameters you could mess with in about:config, also search for "scroll" in about:config.

Ah ha! Doesn't happen in new profile...looks like it was a leftover from the old extension I had.

Thanks,
