Many of you have traveled through the levels learning as you go from 11s on upward. My goal is to get to the 55s in a year. I think that is reasonable. When you think of the level of play and strategy, what is the difference between these two areas of the spectrum.

I will do this too. I started playing the 11's about 2 weeks ago. My nick name is Grange_Master4. GL to ya SaqqyTTs.

My goal will be to reach the 55's in...one month starting with $88.00. So by February I should be playing the 55's with at least a 2k bankroll.

A $5,500 BR would be more appropriate. I started at the $6s in October with $200, I'm on the $33s with $4k+ right now. I spend about 90mins studying for every hour playing though.

30-40 buyins is more than sufficient for a bankroll if you know what you are doing and are willing to move down when you have lost a decent amount of it.

12-26-2005, 09:02 PM
I dont think you need 100 buyins to play a level 30-50 is fine IMO as long as you dont mind moving down when you lose some. Personally if I ever get below 30 buyins I just move down levels till I have 40 buyins for the higher level and then try again. The main difference I have seen on the stars 55+5 copared to the 6+.50 is that there is less dumb play through the first few levels. And usually only like 2-3 players are terrible instead of 5-6. I havent played the 55's very long though so I am still getting used to them.

I didnt mean anything by my post, i just wanted to set a goal. I do think it is very possible for me to do this, even if I am not a very good player.

What do you mean? Its obvious that an 8 buy-in bankroll is more than enough for any semi non decent player to sustain profitability at poker.

Well, I am going to start out at the 11's with my 88 bucks. During the first 4 SNG's i am just going to play regularly. On the sets after that I am going to invest my BR into the "sidebet" game at least three times. So within 10 hours I will have at least 300.00. With that money I will move down to the 5+1 speed tournaments because they are really fun. After I win 200.00 or 10 straight SNG's(which ever comes first) I will move up to the 33's. Where I will single table for 24 hours straight. This should give me a great sample size for my long term stats. If I like them I will move back down to the 5+1 speed tournaments. I will play these until I have 1,000.00. If I dont do too good at the 33's I will start playing blackjack until I have 1000. At this point I will start 7 tabling the 55's where I plan to stay until I have 2,000. Like I said I am not very good so this plan will give me a great chance of success.

I would be glad to keep you guys updated every week... but frankly i dont think you care

GL, you are in for quite a ride and the funniest part about it is that you have no idea what is about to happen to you.

I'm just curious as to why you want to put money into the sidebet game and/or blackjack as a means to build your bankroll?

BTW I am doing the same thing now, giving the $11s another shot after I had some success with them last summer ... so far things are going quite well.

12-26-2005, 10:47 PM
It was a joke, BTW.

But I am planing on Making it from the 11's to the 55's in one month. If anyone wants to try this with me be my guest, i would love to talk with someone(or some people).

55s are a joke, if you have 2k that should be enough to play them

Bankroll is up to 450.00. I am hanging out at the 22's right now until I get about 700.00.

To all the nay-say'ers. I'll post again next monday to prove to you that i'm for real.
