View Full Version : Fun with Paradise nano monkeys

My grandfather dabbles with ~$15 in Paradise playing the nano .02/.04 LHE and asks me to make him a little money. I did -- got dealt QQ twice in a row (RIGGED!!!!111).

This hand was actually kind of interesting:

I get Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif Q/images/graemlins/heart.gif UTG+1
One call the me and I raise. I get 5 (yes five) cold callers, SB 3 bets, BB and UTG cold call, I cap, all call.

9 to the flop for 36 SBs:

A/images/graemlins/spade.gif 5/images/graemlins/spade.gif 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif (RIGGED!!!!!111)

SB leads, 7 callers (including me).

Turn (A lot of bets):

7:brick:

Same thing happens.

River (some sick amount of bbs):

2/images/graemlins/spade.gif

SB bets again, 2 callers to me. What do you do here?

Be upset when someone cold called with K2o and wins the pot?

Raise. It's getting capped anyway, so just hold on to your butt and hope nobody's holding K/images/graemlins/spade.gif.

Edit . . . er, if by "same thing" you mean SB leads and everyone calls (i.e. no more psycho-aggression). Then call and go for overcalls. I doubt anyone would call two cold with such an obvious strong hand out there.

What makes you think the river is getting capped?

Yeah. No reason to raise, you'll be folding worse hands and getting 3-bet by better ones. Call as many bets as you have to to see a showdown, and hope the king stayed home.

The more I think about this, the more I like a raise. SB could have a lot of hands here that don't include the K/images/graemlins/spade.gif, and there's a lot of dead money going into the pot. I think a raise is +EV here. You're probably beat a lot, but the times you aren't, a raise is huge.

EDIT: I somehow misread the turn action and thought you were last to act on the river. With three more players behind you, I'd much rather call. But basically for the same reason - the overcalls you're going to get should more than make up for the times you're behind.

raise, and type in yer chatbox, "I hope noone has the j/images/graemlins/spade.gif!!11"

ok, um, seriously, how can we put people on hands at this level? I guess we're getting like 3000:1 to call, so I think we're good here .033% of the time. overcalls is good to encourage lots of 2nd pair, bottom two, etc. to call.

I actually have four potential callers behind me (8 people still in the hand).

It's cool -- I guess I could have been clearer.

I called and went for overcalls. Got 3 overcalls, and it turn out my 2nd nuts was best. So my granfather can go splurge on a few eggrolls or some cheap beer now.

The real question is how many bets do you call back to you? Ponder that -- I have to go to bed.

lol. This hand reminds me ov some 2+2 tables I've played at on Stars(with less capping /images/graemlins/smirk.gif).

I don't think I'd fold the second ( Edit: third) nuts if it's capped back to me. With that many callers, I think you'll win more eggrolls than you'd lose. Folding would be a huge mistake.

GRUNCH:

How do you put anyone on the one card that beats you - especially in this game? Raise the hell out of this and lose a bigger pot.

Grunch:

Raise. Only scared of Ks (possible) and 34s (not really possible). WTF - I've never played .02/.04

Clear fold preflop.
