Doesn't it feel weird when people that you know or that you went to high school with start getting married?

I live in a LDS (Mormon) community where I suspect girls are programmed from birth for marriage. Seriously, if a Mormon girl is older than 22 and is single it looks weird.

I just found out this girl I dated this summer is engaged. So she has been going out with this guy for a maximum of 4 months. She's 19 by the way. And her sister got married at 18 and was pregnant by 19.

I couldn't imagine getting married until I was at least done with college. I still enjoy getting drunk and stoned with my friends, don't want to have to come home and deal with a wife.

So the women in your community keep getting married at the same age and you keep getting older. I don't see this as a problem. Just get married to a 20 year old when you're 40 and in the meantime enjoy!

it's pretty funny that you live in a mormom community and your location says "rolling a fat blunt".

i grew up and went to school with around five guys who were mormons. it seems that whenever they graduated from high school and got back from a two year mission somewhere out of the country they were married to some random mormom girl within six months. i guess they are all just ready to bone.

Its not as odd as when they start getting divorced. Hello second chance.

Some of my friends just started getting engaged this year with a couple married. Guess that puts pressue on me seeing that I have been going out with my girlfriend for 4+ years.

my brother is seriously considering marrying his girlfriend of 3.5 years. I couldn't be more proud of him. but at the same time it makes me nervous because my sister is also married and there's no one on my horizon. I don't plan on getting married for a while, and I have an awful fear of being that uncle who doesn't get married. and I'm really afraid of my future nephews stealing all my porn.

not as awful as when all your friends are married and having babies, and your girlfriend who you planned on spending the rest of your life with doesn't believe in marriage and wants no kids.

I went to a Jewish high school so half my (former) friends are engaged/married.
It's weird.

My girlfriend found out this weekend that her ex got married a month back. They dated about four years and were just about to get engaged before they ended it. She's depressed about it, not that she's still hung up on him, just pissed that he was so quick with popping the question with his now wife.

You probably shouldn't marry someone you have to "deal with".

It is noice when you no longer have to find out if a girl has a boyfriend before asking her out. All you have to do is look at her ring finger.

Kind of reminding me of 'The Naked Gun.' ... "They say Nordberg has a 50 percent chance of living, but there's only a 10 percent chance of that."
