Do you think there'll be a big overlay today because it's Christmas? I am thinking about skipping out of somewhere early and direct buying into it if it doesn't make 2000.

I doubt it.

There are plenty of atheists, non-Christians and Jews interested in playing. Don’t skip out of dinner early for it.

Good luck.

What if I just don't like my family much?

the 200k and the 40k both had overlays last night, but don't skip out on Christmas man.

I think there's a shot at a good overlay on this with it being Christmas and all.

Party isn't even 1/4 of the way to the break even point. I'm trying to qualify time now.

Almost all of the guaranteed tournaments won't fill today. I will definitely buy into the tournament tonight if I can get dinner out of the way early. It is a bit odd that I am thinking about a big poker tournament on the day we celebrate Christ's birth. Does anyone else feel guilty for trying to rush through dinner in order to make the tournament? ....No...Ok, that's what I thought. I mean we are on the 2+2 boards and it is Christmas day!

Also some of the other small tournaments may be a good deal for lower limit MTTers. The $15K guaranteed ($5) at 14:40 is only has 325 players right now. The $35K ($100) at 19:00 also looks to be a big overlay with ZERO players signed up. Sheesh...you'd think it was a holiday or something.

Just played 2 of the $40+4 SNGs and qualified for this tourney.

Looking forward to a big overlay!

Courtesy of a Heads Up suckout, I'm in.

Unfortunately the quest for tourney dollars in the Stars version isn't going as well /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Looks like I am going to be a negative. Family comes before poker (this time) I have decided /images/graemlins/smile.gif Oh well. GLA, looks to be an awesome overlay. They will probably nab 1300-1600ish?? How many do you think they will get?

I don't think the overlay is going to be as big as people think. Other people will have the same idea as us, and look to take advantage.

Do you actually think that your are "qualifying" by playing a satellite?

Whether you make the T$ now, or after the tournament, its the same exact thing.

Looks to be about a $36K overlay. Not great, but better than nothing.

No I didn't misread. I am saying you are falling into the common misconception about satellites.

Same thing as buying in you mean? I don't follow what you are saying here. What if he wouldn't have bought into it without the satellite? I think (if I am understanding you correctly) what you call a 'mis-conception' is really a different mindset on poker and bankroll management and such.
