so i ran this in a simulator
flop: Ad 5h 6h

scenario 1:
player1: Ac As
player2: 4s 7s

scenario 2:
player1: Ac As
player2: Kh Jh

I ran these scenarios in a simulator and
it actually said the open ended straight had
a slightly higher % to win over the flush draw
by like .25%.
but isnt the flush supposed to be easier to
hit because having 9 outs instead of 8 for the open
ended straight?

Both have 8 outs against the set since the A/images/graemlins/heart.gif would improve the set to quads. However, after a blank comes on the turn, the flush draw usually has only 7 outs. For example, if the turn is the 2/images/graemlins/spade.gif, then the 2/images/graemlins/heart.gif on the river would improve the set to a full house. This difference almost balances the runner-runner straight draw that K/images/graemlins/heart.gif J/images/graemlins/heart.gif has.
