Blinds are very high as this tournament took awhile:

SB has .5 BB after posting SB
BB has 1 BB after posting BB
Hero has 10 BB on button.

Hero is holding two cards..... your move?

1st plays pays 70%, 2nd place pays 30% (5 entrants).

This seems a pretty clear spot to push anything. The SB might fold, and you'll probably be a 2-1 dog at worst. I guess you could just call, and see which of them gets knocked out, but the only difference is in the SB's perception of how you entered the hand.

I fold unless I have something decent. I would like them to just trade chips until one gets knocked out, rather than risk doubling one of them up.

So one of you would fold most hands, and one of you would push anything. Is there some sort of SNG-particular strategy for this situation? I figure if I push, both will call, so if either wins, they're almost tripled up... Still, I pushed Q8 here... Thoughts?

I'd fold unless I had really good cards. I've come back, and seen others come back, from being all-in on the blind, to win first.

No reason to triple up one of them.

Push. Worst case is you'd have 8BB at hands end, guy in BB would have 4.5 and SB .5

If you fold your taking all the hard decisions away from the guy in the BB

Best case is you bust BB and have 12.5 BB heads up and .5 for the other guy.
