I remembered this hand, but not what my exact starting hand was so when I was searching for it I put a ton of filters on and this was the only hand I could find that was even remotely like this. So nyah.
As I recall the blinds were tight and the limper was limping every single hand and folding most flops.

The flop bet is sort of mandatory after the two checks.
The preflop raise was invented by the man later known for a variation of this move, that is, pushing over limpers from the bb. You know his initials, he is starting another career I hear, but I do miss him at these boards...

I don't like it at all. Especially at a lower buy in. Regardless of your read on MP2.

Yeah, so this hand has nothing to do with curtains as far as I can tell....and it's just a bad idea preflop all around. Pretty much on any table.

Since when is $55 a lower buyin? I've done this once in 20,000 hands, and I definitely had a strong read on the limper.

durron,
The biggest problem with doing this 'move' at a $55 is the players behind you (despite your initial limper read)...My guess is that this sort of thing isn't even really possibly +EV until *maybe* the 109s or 215s.

Well, obviously giga will get a K95 flop and triple up against AK and AA, so I'd be fine there.

I say that due to the quality of players, and relevance of your information of those players in regards to the situation. For instance, the fact that:

doesn't matter much at this buy in.
You're putting too much at risk in MP here without a hand.

Yeah. Just think about the risk verse reward proposition here. You know why this is bad.

When you say this is +EV at 109s or 215s, are you talking about image that regulars would remember or something? It just doesn't seem like a pfr with 95o and then betting any ragged flop can be profitable. Could you elaborate on why making this move can be +EV if it isn't just a table image "future gains" sort of reason?
