So recently I've hit the good end of the variance in a rather extreme way but I KNOW that this can only be a harbinger for an impending bad streak. I almost don't want to play because I know it's gonna fall off any tournament now! Anyone else get this way when they put together a big winning streak?

No, enjoy the upswing and stop resembling scobby doo in a dark room.

You're right, I am being a [censored]. I just know it can't last. Not that I'm playing scared or anything, I just know I'm gonna hit the other end sooner or later.

If you think a downswing is coming it usually does. Scared poker is never winning poker.

There's always going to be a bad streak around the corner. Onl stop playing if you hate money or if you aren't any good.

I suggest you have the site send you a check, cash it, then head for the backyard.

I've gone through that phase not too long ago. In fact I almost wanted a small bad streak to come so that I would know that I could fight through it.

Then the bad streak came, I went on tilt for two days (i.e. saying this is a stupid play but I'm on tilt right now, so I'll make it anyway). Took a day break, and came back with the notion of thinking about every play I make for at least 5 seconds before I make it.

Since then I've went on another small hot streak, moved up in limits and am now at the tail end of a 400 game heater.

That two day tilt was probably the best thing thats happened to my game, cause it convinced me that I actually should start thinking about my plays instead of saying "oooh AJs is so pretty...I'll reraise your reraise!"

Yes, my 2006 goal, take my time for decisions involving my whole stack rather than just push all in even thoug I know I am behind.

Its actually a common problem to be scared to play after winning huge amounts in sit and gos.
