PartyPoker.com double billed my credit card and wanted to warn all. After big run around, including faxing a copy of the deposits from my bank statement, they said I was right and would credit my card back, been a couple days and nothing yet.

Hi,

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago.
I also sent them ( via email ) a copy of my bank statement. Took 5 or 6 days, but they did credit my poker account with the money without too much hassle.

i'm not on party yet (waiting to have a bit more money to maximize my initial-deposit bonus) so i have no personal customer-service stories from there to share. but i have some definate opinions on the tales related here.

when it's their mistake i don't see why it should be the responsibility of the customer to provide the proof.
can't they look up the amount they have billed their various customers on their own?
i would really b-tch and complain before doing any ounce of work for them. in the end, i would indeed dig up the statement and fax it to them or whatever was necessary because i want to get my money back. but i would make it known that i was not happy that i had to do it.

the double-billing is forgiveable i suppose. mistakes happen. but it's how the customer is treated post-mistake that defines the quality of an organization.

the fact that it took several days to receive your money after providing the proof is equaly poor service imo. after they messed up one would think they would get it taken care of as soon as possible to avoid any poor feelings.

i had a weird-and-not-so crucial situation with my stars account. i withdrew $200 but only received $196 and also got an auto-e-mail saying that my $4 was returned to my account. i asked what the deal was and received several professional and courteous replies as to how and why it happened and what steps were being taken to prevent it from happening again....etc etc. geez, i was just pointing out a little $4 weirdness just for their information (not sure if they were aware or not) and they were incredibly apologetic regarding the inconvenience (which $4 very obviously was not).
went way above and beyond the professionalism that i would have expected on such a trivial matter.

thanks for relaying the party-prob. a friendly reminder that one really needs to keep an eye on every penny deposited and withdrawn on every site

you clearly fail to understand that credit cards are controlled by banks, not by party poker.

If party processed your credit card credit in 0.25 seconds it would still take several days for it to show in your account.

If you think it's poor service, then bitch at your bank.

was not aware that the delay would happen even if the casinos acted immediately. assumed the delay was on their end but i've been wrong before. obviously, they would be wise to send an e-mail stating that the money has been refunded and would be appearing in their account within a couple of days....but they possibly already do this.

i still stand by my assertion that making the customer send fax copies of their statement is not the best customer service.

If you paid with Visa/MC then the merchant is funded within 48 hours of the end of day batch processing that all credit card merchants do. AMX funds within 24 hours of batch.

If you have a double bill issue or services not received issue call VISA/MC/AMX they are very good at going to bat for the card holder. Plus the other post was correct. The burden of proof is on the merchant, not the card holder.

If you contact VISA/MC/AMX with a dispute they will pull the funds out of the merchant's bank account right away and it's up to the merchant to justify why they should get it back.
