I just finished my first level 5 in the Mini-Steps - came 5th ($200).

I started from the bottom step and worked my way up.

I was wondering if it is more cost-effective (as $/hour) to come in at a higher level.
Specifically I am talking about starting at level 2.
Since only the winner goes up from level one it is quite difficult to move up. Even if you don't get knocked out, it can take 3 or 4 rounds to move up.
Coming in at level 2 seems to be far better use of time available. This is mainly because you are far less likely to get stuck at level 2.

Does this make any sense?

most cost-effective as in $/hour = start at level 5

if you're concerned with maximizing your $ per hour then play regular SNGs instead of steps (unless of course you can buy into the top level).

Problem is that $430 is a bit out of my range at the moment.
