"You have a message from Logitech"

I have a Logitech mouse with some Logitech software and from time to time I get a pop up message about some Logitech product. There's probably a wawy to turn this off but I don't really care as it's not particularly inconvenient and I might actually find something I want.

Anyway, I just got this one about whatever webcam type prodtuc Logitech makes:

I couldn't help but think that was a very odd choice of girl to use for the ad. You'd think they'd use a more traditional, pretty chick that you see in most ads--or at least someone without blue hair. I don't think I'm going to be buying whatever it was that this Suicide Girls reject was trying to sell me.

As a business decision this seems really, really odd. You'd think you'd want something that nobody could object to- and instead you've picked something that's going to bother any number of people (regardless of how justified their botherment (REAL WORD?) is).

Do you guys ever see computer gaming magazines or magazines like MaximumPC? The new marketing take is that girls with blue hair is what all the hip young nerds like. They're all over the place in ads there.

Well, since I play alot of games, mouseware in the past has been absolute garbage; mouseaccel has always been a problem. Terrible, useless tweaks. Overall garbage.

To be honest, unless your mouse requires the software, do not use it. It just causes problems. Use default XP drivers.

As well, XP has a built in function called mouse acceleration; the worst idea of all time. It speeds up your mouse movement the faster you speed up your mouse, making everything extremely inprecise. There are mouse registry fixes to fix this problem.
