Anybody into exotic cats???

There are 2 that catch my eye. The Savannah and the Bengal cat.

Both have the bloodline of a wild cat in them and are from crossing a domestic cat w/ a wild cat.

The Savannah is made from domestic cat and the African Serval. The Bengal cat is from the Asian Leopard cat and a domestic.

It is said that the F4 generation Bengals make better pets then theirf1,f2 and f3 counterparts. F1 has 1 parent being a Asian leopard f2 has 1 grandparent, etc......

The Savannah breed is very new and pretty rare at this point but the Bengal has been produced since the 60s.
here is a couple of sites these neat animals can be scene on..

My LT girlfriend and I got a bengal kitten from a local breeder last June - her suggestion. The old bankroll took a hit getting him that's for sure.. but she wanted the pick of the litter of course and reserved our cat when he was 4 weeks old. He is an F4 snow marble - just about all bengals sold by breeders are F4s. He is a great cat actually, I had a domestic mutt cat while growing up and "Little Slick" as we call our bengal is nothing like him.

As far as temperment etc he's a very "active" cat, always finding something to get himself into, something that needs pouncing, etc. He is not as affectionate as my old cat - the only time he purrs really is when he's giving my GF "hair luv" - he'll climb up on her chest when she's lying down and stick his face in her hair and kneed/purr. But he's very attached to us, always wants to see what we're doing and really a good "couchtiger" as we call him, and seems to be getting better with age, a few hours after we get home and he's got the pouncies out he'll usually try and curl up in my lap at the computer or couch etc. He's not particularly skittish and takes to visitors well. I have no complaints really and would get another one if we could but we're in a 1 cat place at the moment. He's certainly not "wild", he's just an active cat with neat markings and an extra 2 inches of rump heh. Here's a couple pictures I've posted before.

Damn. I wish I had a cat. THose Bengal ones look cool. Someone I know has two Burmese kittens, which were really nice - I'm probably remembering this wrong, but I'm convinced one of them was blue.

Thanks for the info. I've wanted a Serval for years, but have been waiting until I got more settled and had more room. The Bengal or Savannah my be the perfect thing for me, as you know, the Servals can be a handful.

Post some pics if you get one.
