UTG makes a rather strong (or at least standard) opening raise. After you reraise a good amount, he pushes over the top. Without reads, this has big pair written all over it. could be QQ or a lower pair, but i think its AA/KK often, and you're throwing chips at him by calling.

of course, if you're gonna call, you need to push so you can see all 5 cards if you are lucky enough to be in a coinflip.

He only min-raised, I'm certainly not calling a push unless he is an utter maniac.

Assuming your logic doesn't change if he minraised rather than pushed:
This is my logic as well, even though it's a minraise. I believe that pushing for FE/flip is -EV. Grimstarr, why would you push here? There's also a post by AJ in the digest, and he seems to advocate the AK push in many situations as well.

Realize that villain is somewhat shortstacked at 40BB, how does this logic change if villain is 100BB? Can I call the min-raise, and continue only with TPTK+big draws profitably?

Not enough info on villain to make a standard read. Either push pre-flop if he is likely to push with non-pocket pairs, call and bomb the flop if you catch a piece, call and raise all-in on any flop.

If villain is a 15/2 rock, then I fold this pre-flop, if villain is a 40/15 then I push pre-flop.
