An offshore book has posted an over under of 15.5 for Lebron James' season PPG average. He must play 50 games for action.

Just thought some of you might find that interesting. No real opinion on the line.

Tough line methinks. Just off the top of my head it seems about right but perhaps a bit high.

This looks to me like an incredible value to bet the under. I say take the under and bet the farm.

1. Only one rookie in the past 3 years has averaged over 15.5 ppg.

2. LeBron James is nowhere near the best player in this year's rookie class. He might develop into the best player a couple years down the road, but not this year.

3. The media hype alone should add ~3 points to the O/U.

4. NBA veterans WILL NOT want to get lit up by LeBron James. There will be extra motivation to take this kid to school and show him what it's like to play with the big boys.

High schoolers don't score anywhere near double-digits in their NBA rookie seasons. 15.5 is ridiculous - Kobe was more polished and couldn't get anywhere near there. Of course, the media illusion is that James will be the Cavs top offensive option. He won't be - he'll be 3rd or worse after Ricky Davis, DuJuan Wagner and probably Zydrunas Ilgauskas.

LeBron has had himself a much better season than we thought. I'm not surprised by the amount of minutes he's played (a little under 40 a game) but I'm surprised that he's been as consistent as he's been. I playing 40 minutes a game 15 a game was about right but obviously that was wrong.
