performance question

my internet connect6ion works reasonably well. high speed. i have a dell which has been wracked by virus problems the last couple years. although the net is quick enough, i keep getting this thing where when i drag the mouse the cursor choppily moves across the screen, and i can't do anything. it usually lasts about 10 seconds, but sometimes longer. how do i fix this?

How often do you reboot your computer? That can have an effect on performance. Also, run Ad-Aware or some other spyware. Another thing could be your memory, the more memory the smoother your machine will run. I'm sure there are other things that could cause it and other things that can fix it. I'm sure others will point them out.
