View Full Version : To muck or not to muck

I was wondering if it was better to:

A. muck every losing hand.

B. show every losing hand.

C. muck some, show some.

D. who cares?

Any thoughts?

What do you mean?

I assume you mean after you've paid your last bet, and your opponent turns over a hand that beats yours?

Muck. Almost always. Don't give your opponents free information about the way you play.

That makes sense not to give any free info to the ememy. /images/wink.gif Thanks!

The only exception I can think of is if you play VERY tight (like I do). I also normally only raise with premium hands. After awhile the other players may begin to realize how you are playing, and fold every time you raise.

So I will then raise with a medium suited connector in an early or middle position. If they all fold I take the blinds. If I get a four-flush or open ended straight I'll take it all the way to the river. If I win great! If I lose, I turn the hand over and say "Damn, and I had a feeling on this one."

NOTE: I've actually only done this once as I normally play low limits where I get called on my raises even UTG -- so no need for deception.
