My computer constatly is checking my E drive

Every 15 seconds or so it scans my :E drive and I have no idea why. I checked scheduled tasks and nothing on there and I have no idea why it does this.

It causes a hiccup in whatever im doing 4 times a minute and is getting quite annoying... does anyone know how to fix this???

What's the E: drive? I've had optical drives fail with much the same symptom.

Anti-Virus? Try omitting the E drive from auto-scanning.

I dont have any anti-virus software running on auto-scan

Do you have any of that silly directcd or other bloatware easy cd crap installed?

Perhaps the drive is getting ready to go to the drive graveyard.
