View Full Version : Calculating Bankroll for SnGs

I am attempting to calculate bankroll size for SnGs, but my result doesn't make sense (to me at least). 75 tournaments, 13 wins, 7 seconds, 7 thirds, 43 OTM. I get that is an EV of .6667, and a SD of 2.3522, and that the bankroll for a 1% Risk of Ruin is 19.11 buyins. THat seems way too high. Is that accurate?

[/ QUOTE ] lol, search the 1-table tournaments forum for downswings. 19 is very very low. I am not a SNGer but I believe they keep a bank roll of around 50 buy-ins, and up to 100 depending on what limit you play at. You are new here so I wont even mention your 75 tourny sample size. (500 tournys in the MINIMUM before you can somewhat accuratly predict your %'s)

lol nobody at any limits online can sustain a winning percentage of 17%... 13wins in 75 games isnt at all unheard of but its not going to happpen over thousands of SnG's

I had 12 1sts in 20 sngs a couple of days ago. It's silly to try and calculate you EV or risk of ruin based off such a small sample. Even 1000 isn't nearly the sample most people would think.

Just as an example. When I moved to 55's, I had a 31%ROI over my first 300. Then was almost down to 10% by the time I got to 500.
