I'm not giving a cutoff's pf raise credit for AK every time. You're ahead here (probably up against a PP that is lower than KK or maybe A9).

Edit: Oops, I see he mini-raised pf. You're ahead. Push the turn.

How about a value bet on the river? One of those way ahead way behind spots.

You bet 150 or something on the river (half blocking/half value) - sometimes he folds a better hand (rarely), pushes a better hand, calls with a worse hand.

There is always the chance that he'll push with a worse hand, but there is also the chance that he bets big enough that you can't call on the river too.

Hey scuba.... whats your thinking behind check/calling with top pair from the blinds?

No bet on the turn?
No value/block bet on the river?

The MTT'r in me wants to either

A: Check raise the flop and fold to a push, or
B: Lead out the flop.

How bad are these options?

You play better players than I do Scuba...

but where I play I'd get calls from mid-pairs and occassionally Ace high from bad players....on the river I mean...

...I think I see what you're thinking now though...

Would you bet the turn if your top pair was lower than a King....Say if you had K9 for top pair w/your nine?

In your situation, I would have folded K9 preflop. Note that in this hand, I called a raise.

Looks good I think. You know what a big fan I am of leading out but in this case it looks really good.

Plenty, cmon you are playing against total and complete morons in the $33 most of the time. Until you give them the credit that they deserve, which is very little, you wont acheive maximum results. They don't need top pair 2nd kicker to call big bets like perhaps you do. Thats one main reason why you are supposed to be so much better than them.

Anyway I'm not even talknig about the play of this hand, its just the attitude that's way off.

I prefer both of those to check/calling personally.
