View Full Version : Any reason for a nl tournament player to read TOP or HFAP?

All I play are NL tournaments, both SNG and MTTs and don't expect that to change anytime soon. So far, I've done pretty well up to the $20 buy-in level. I read the NL section in SuperSystem 1 and got a lot out of it. I also read and re-read both volumes of HOH and learned a TON from that. I really seem to enjoy reading poker books and I've heard that Theory of Poker and Holdem for Advanced Players are both excellent. However, given the fact that these books are about limit holdem, are there any concepts that would crossover to nl tournaments that the other books don't cover?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

TOP is not about limit hold'em it is about the theoretical underpinnings of all forms of poker and is widely regarded as the best poker book ever written.

Skip HEFAP, but definitely read TOP. It's about the theory of all poker games really.

No poker library is ever complete without TOP.

I have 3 copies ! When my friends ask me which poker book to read first, I always have an extra copy to lend out.
