I am trying to integrate more pot odds / implied / effective, etc., as well as fold equity and pot equity into my games to make better decisions at the table.

I'm getting better at it, but it still seems cumbersome.

How do you as poker players successfully process this info at the table.

Is it simply rote memorization? Studying various hands / match-ups, situations in advance (homework - so to speak.)

Are there certain shortcuts, rules, etc to make computing at the table easier?

Just wondering...

Most of my math is simple memorization.

An easy, albeit not completely accurate way of figuring out the likelihood of completing your hand is the rule of 4/rule of 2.

Figure out how many outs you have. Say it's 8 for a flopped open ended straight draw. You have a 32% chance of completing your hand with 2 cards to come:

Rule of 4: multiply outs post-flop by four to figure out chance of completing hand.

After the flop, multiply it by 2; here, if you don't complete on the turn, you've got a 16% chance of hitting on the river.

Apply pot odds accordingly.
