As the semister ends, I get to go home and for the first time ever I dont have a job, partially by choice. Anyway, Id really like to get some serious hands in, but I have a problem: Dial-up. Yes, it still exists and yes I have it. When I moved out we got rid of the high speed connection. So, any ideas of where I can do this. I have a laptop so that helps.

Thanks

Pay whomever $60/mo for the one month you require it. A stable dial up connection should be sufficient for poker + no simulanteous broswsing.

Laptop or desktop? if its a laptop, go to a coffeeshop or some other place that has free wireless internet. and hey, coffee is sweet too!

Im afraid with dial up ill get disconnected, coffee shop might be the best idea, as one of my good friends works there. I dont wanna be the creepy guy sitting there for several hours a day playing poker, but I guess I need to make sacrifices.

try dial up at home. it should be fine. no multi-tasking, just multi-tabling.

I've played dial up from hotels with my laptop plenty of times without disconnect problems, though YMMV. If you're really worried about disconnect browse for about 30min first after connecting until you're confident the line won't drop, and when you play don't play no-DP tables.

Hit up a Barnes & Noble... nice and big so even if your there every day you shouldn't get noticed and feel like 'that creepy guy playing poker'.
