View Full Version : Gift ideas for a not yet serious girlfriend

Does anyone have some decent Xmas gift ideas for a girl that is in between friend and serious girlffriend status?

The chick in question is 22, and just finished up college this semester. She's into chic stuff that girls like- fashion, art, design, etc.

Been hanging out for ~two months and has grown into girlfriend status recently. However, the gifts don't need to be too serious- $100-$300 for either one or a series of gifts.

thanks

Some Godvia. Girls like chocolate. If she's into art then like a wall art print.

And I agree with the not-so-serious but $300 question.

serious = piece of jewelery
not serious = ipod filled w/ music

i don't think the cost is the important thing, although an ipod is seriuosly pushing it

Dunno, a 22yr old not too serious 2-month girlfriend doesn't need anything more than a $50-$100 gift IMO. But I'm an old fogey.

go to overstock.com and order expensive looking jewlery for cheap. She'll be like "oh no it's too much" and you'll be like "don't worry babe, I'm rich from playing p*ker."

If you really want to spend $300, look into getting her a kimono.

something golden? Or maybe something that helps her maintain cleanliness, you know, like a shower?

Or some combination?

Agreed.

By the way my suggestion would be nipple clips.

Funny thing was, I dunno why, reading that she was into art made me think of getting her a nice frame or frame/lighting set-up for a favorite poster or painting of hers.

But she'd have to really be into art not to think that was a huge bore.

If she was, though, every time she looked at the artwork it would make her even happier about a thing she was fond of, and remind her of you. Good associations there.

Just a thought, though. I'm sure most women would find that very boring unless they really serious are into their art. And there's nothing "romantic" about it.

very good suggestion. it isn't "romantic" but very thoughtful, imo.

Crap, I screwed up then. When I was 15, my 14 year old girlfriend got ~$500 spent on her for Christmas after only a month and a half of dating. This included a very nice ring (for our age).

Apparently, this was really overkill. It was still good for the positive expected pussy, however.

$300 is not the goal. its just the cap if a really good idea comes up.

If given the option, do you make the name on the jersey the pro's name, her name, or your name?

You're an idiot. Why would you spend $500 on a chick you'd been "dating" for one month when you were 15? Especially considering that nearly all girl's that age would have a hard time distinguishing the $500 gift from the $100 gift.

It was a joke, mostly /images/graemlins/grin.gif

But if anyone's actually buying a jersey...I've always thought having your name on a custom jersey is kinda lame unless it's the actual player's name. On the other hand I can see some appeal to having your girlfriend wearing a jersey with your name on the back. She might consider it a nice tribute or something, I don't know.

So how's that for a non-answer?

I think loyalguard has the right idea.

~ A nice bracelett (you should know if she likes silver or gold) this is romantic and says you care.
~ A pasmina or other really luxurious bath robe.
~ and for fun - a crazy 8 ball to tell her fortune.

make her something. chicks get wet over stuff like that. It also spares you the "in between friend and GF" drama of what to get her, because you dont have to worry about spending too much, or not enough. If shes the materialistic whore type that doesnt appreciate that kinda thing, then dump her ass, and save yourself having to spend $$$ on her, and find a better girl to date.
