...don't you just feel like not watching the game, turning on a movie/reading a magazine just not to listen to Madden and watch two pathetically boring teams play football?

i hate brett favre, and refuse to watch primetime games such as this where the announcers will do nothing but give him hand release all night!

I can't wait to hear about how Samkon Gado wants to be a doctor and how Michaels and Madden find him to be a "fine young man" who "speaks so well" or what ever other condescending bs the primetime crews frequently pull.

No. It's football. It is the ONLY thing I turn my television on for(seriously). Read 2+2, play some cards, tune out the two fools announcing and watch the replays when something happens.

I've gone 40 mins w/o turning it on, want to see how much longer I can go.

turned it on for 5 mins and watched Heap score. GB +3 +110, over 33.5, I'm done for the night.

I like Madden. He's not what he used to be but he's better than most.

Who is the guy who does the NFC South games (did the Carolina game this week)? I CANNOT listen to him.

so who do people think is the best football announcer at the moment?

my pick would be daryl johnston

I need to check out the full list of crews. I know who I don't like (lots of them) there are really only a few who I do like.

That and I prefer not to stab myself in the eyes watching Heap have his only good game of the year after my fantasy season is over.

Kevin Harlan is the only announcer I'm happy to listen to (the only announcer to which I go "good, we've got a good announcer").

I'd pay DirecTV an extra $50 (and probably even $100) a season for a high-def feed of the games featuring a "on the field" sound feed - nothing but the sound of the game, the crowd noise, etc. You'd clearly be able to hear the stadium announcer, but wouldn't need a direct feed to him or anything - just the usual booming echo you hear if you're sitting in the stadium.

the sunday night espn crew are a million times worse than madden

12-20-2005, 01:43 PM
this game got slightly more interesting when including live drive by drive betting, but not by much. Highlight was betting $80 each time to win $20 on Aaron Rodgers not to lead the team to a score on each drive /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Mike Tirico I think...those guys are horrible.

I actually like the Sunday Night and Monday Night crews, not because they're good, but for the comic relief. I prefer that to some anonymous CBS crew that puts you to sleep.
