Thanks but I'm looking for substantive posts, something more than my list of favorite threads.

One that comes to my mind is marv's claimed proof (http://archiveserver.twoplustwo.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=0&Number=2389072&page=0&vc=1) that the equity function is a straight-line once we get heads up. I'm sure that I'll get a lot of huhs? for suggesting it, but a lot of thinking went into it and it's useful to know for HU freezeouts.

Although it is mostly jokes, the "Why arent you better" thread is good. And the one about a year ago today what you did different. They really let people see the improvements that need to be made that all players deal with.

Be careful with those.... some pretty poor advice is sprinkled in with the good stuff on that thread. If you don't know the posters level of success, take what you read with a grain of salt.

Believe me, I should know.

Agreed. But some good info is still sprinkled about, as you said, and there are like 5000000 posts so you can choose the good posters from the bad.

Arent the nominations a little early?

The year isnt over yet.

12-20-2005, 05:58 AM
I would be awesome if we make a Top 10/Top 25/Top 50 or something like that of best posts of the year. And then it should be added to shadows thread with favorite posts so I can find it back.

i like this one. i don't know enough about random walks to verify the 2nd half, but the first half is spot on. very well thought out, very clear. doing analysis on an individual hand and then expanding to the whole tourney is sharp.

did that guy ever post any more here?

12-20-2005, 02:43 PM
I've read a bunch of those old posts about ICM and other topics.

They make me feel so stupid. /images/graemlins/frown.gif
