My roommate came out with hella pizza that just chilled in his room in the box all night and said I could have it. Should I eat it?

12-19-2005, 05:49 PM
As long as it wasn't toasting under the sun, it's okay.

Pizza is meant for college kids to order, leave out overnight, then eat the next day for breakfast.

If you don't feel comfortable eating it, then don't eat it.

Yeah he's waiting on the couch right now for my decision, then he will go back to his room. Im just going to eat it.

The problem is our damn refrigerator lost electricity and my eggs, cheese, milk, and chicken breasts all expired before I got to eat any of it. So now Im just going to eat soggy pepperoni pizza. For free....

My girlfriend came to visit me at school once my freshman year. We ordered pizza the night before, and the next day, I got up at the crack of noon, pulled the pizza box out from under my bed and finished a half-eaten slice of pizza that had been under there all night. I'm still here, so I think it's fine.

Fwiw I love NY pizza (really NY anything) as much as anybody, but living in Santa Cruz this summer I really took a liking to this place called Straw Hat Pizza. They made what was obviously a California style of pizza, with no attempts to mimick anything New York. I basically approached it as a different product than NY pizza, but it was very good in its own right.

Are you saying I do? If you're old enough to use a computer and you haven't figured out that you can (should) eat pizza that's been left out overnight, you deserve to be beaten.

Teach him that he can eat pizza as long as it isn't moving and I won't.

There's a place (there's actually several of them now) in Phoenix called NYPD Pizza that was started by two guys from Long Island.

They import the water for the pizza dough.

FWIW, it got voted "Best Pizza" for Phoenix on that citysearch website the past couple years.

I don't think the preference to heat it up has anything to do with killing bacteria.

FYP. But this also applies to the "NY pizza rules" gang. You are all new world second raters. Hang your heads in shame.

Pizza is diffrent over in Italy as well. There version of it is not the same as here either. There's is Margherita Pizza , which is based more on fresh ingredients then the more Common version with just sauce and cheese.

Believe it or not, this question has already been asked, and recently.

As to an answer, that would depend if you had cockroaches.

Microwaving it will kill all the bacteria on it (they explode). You will be fine as long as it's eaten before they (bacteria) have time to reproduce again.

Skip,

When you say the pizza "chilled in his room" do you mean in got cold or just that it hung out in his room?

there is more than just margherita pizza in italy. also, based more on fresh ingredients? what are you talking about? it's just sauce, cheese and basil. it's supposed to represent the italian flag.

Upon your recommendation, I ate the pizza. Failing to heat it up first. Some of the pizza had chicken. I felt fine. It was great, thanks!
