I don't generally like the way that hats look on me or on other people. They don't serve any functional purpose, aren't comfortable and look sloppy.

completely false.

they do an awesome job of blocking out sun, i prefer a hat to sunglasses unless i'm literally looking into the sun while i'm driving.

as a dude with a shaved head, it also keeps sunburns away and warms my head during winter.

i also hate having crap in my pockets, so when i get to work i put all my keys, wallet, etc into my hat so it all sits in one place.

I nevere thought about the sunburn thing, although I never thought that hats did a very good job keeping my had warm and that a wool ski cap was always much better.

the sun is very seldom in front of me to such a degree that a hat is ineffective. i never wear sunglasses now, and i have nice prescription ones.

i agree that a ski cap would be warmer, but a hat is all-purpose and it still does the job fine. between that and a hooded sweatshirt i'm good to go.

Tilting the hat a little bit actually makes sense if you have ever been a pitcer. Sometimes the hat can cause you to lose sight of the catcher's mit during portions of your delivery. Tilting the hat to the side a little will prevent this from happening.

It seems to me that it's more the type of people that wear baseball hats than hats themselves that you have a problem with (especially since you own at least one). I can sortof see where you're coming from, something along the lines of the popped collar; still, it's not the same, I don't think. You're stereotyping. I know alot of dicks who wear baseball hats. i will grant you that there are some acceptable times/situations for the wearing of a baseball hat.

i own maybe 3. 1 gets worn if i play golf. my fishing hat i have not worn in probably 6 years. it is up at my family's cabin. i have one from when i used to run 70 miles/week, but i dunno where it is. it was good for keeping the sun off of my face. i do not wear hats as a standard part of my wardrobe, like pants and a shirt. doing so is simply moronic. so there.
