day 8, she's still settin'...

she's got her nest on a moss covered boulder right by the creek.the other day i slipped up from above the nest and she was off so i thought i'd ease down and do a re-count of the eggs, i took my attention off the nest for about 1 minute or less and when i looked back she was back on! so much for the re-count...she is a slick one, she is...

the suspense is killing me....pleeeeeze let me know as soon as there borned...gl daddy...

i'm a little curious myself how she is gonna manage the first ones out while setting on the latebloomers...she had one wing out yesterday a little and i thought i heard a peep or two, but today seemed like she was tucked up tight and all quiet so i'm not sure exactly what the deal is as of now... it's about a four foot drop off the top of the rock to the ground (off the back side and about 8 ft high in front)...she'll have her hands, heh wings, full, trying to feed and set and protect...but i'm sure she is up to the task...

is this a wild turkey, or a farmer's turkey that's gone wild?
