First Hour, been playing moderately tight and agressive post-flop. Villain has been TAG pre-flop but made some questionable calls post-flop. Do you call here?

I call.

I would put him on AQ/99+
You're a favorite to that range.

I think you can fold here. His range for this push should be AA-99.

You split with AA, are ahead of KK and TT (but they have straight draws too), and are crushed by QQ, JJ, and 99. However, KK and TT would seemingly be a lot less likely, so I think I try to find a fold here.

As opposed to a set that open push overbets?

You have to call here. Instantly. You are probably almost 65% against his range and you have pot odds.

If you lose, you lose.

Do you call here? Hero??

Yeah I like the call. What are the hands that hurt you? KT, QQ, JJ, 99, QJ

I think the opponents preflop play probably rules out the former and the latter. I doubt that he plays the set that strongly because the hand is so strong he doesn't want you to fold.

You have the edge over everything else. What's not to like?

I called, I had a bed feeling I faced trips but I couldn't put myself in those shoes with an open push all in. So I figured he had KK and put it all in there.

Pot is 800, Villain has 995 behind. I don't see the push as a huge overbet.

Villain had over 1400 chips. Villain is no longer in the tourney, hero is havings fits with a 53/17/3 hyper-aggro that has twice caught cards to foil hero's strong hands. Anyone got a link to a discussion on dealing with this, I'd love to see it?

12-17-2005, 07:21 PM
he did have the KK?

don't play the aggro unless you have solid cards, you'll get him eventually

12-17-2005, 07:25 PM
Yep, KK. Then two otheres at the table told me how foolish I was to call, so that's why I am asking the opinions of the experts here

I would call here unless you don't like money. If you fold, PM me your screenname for later reference.

Psh. Table coaches are dumb. Why would he push anything as strong as a set or 2pr.
