Is the MX1000 still the standard for the best mouse for poker? Has anyone compared it to the G7? Any others I should be looking at? I noticed on the Logitech site that the G7 has changeable batteries that last for about 10 hours of use each. What is the battery life like on the MX1000, and does it ever affect your ability to play? It doesn't look like you can swap batteries on it, so is there ever a need to stop what you are doing so you can recharge it?

Thanks!

I actually read all the reviews on Amazon.com for the MX1000 and for the G7 and ended up going with the G7 (it should arrive next Tuesday). You should probably also check out these reviews before you make a decision (also you can save a nice chunk of change buying the mouse off amazon).

I just got an MX1000 the other day. The book says a full charge will last you 15 days. There's also a battery meter on the mouse so I can't imagine ending up in a spot where it goes dead before I have a chance to recharge it.

Thanks for the links. Be sure to post a review when you get the G7. Judging by the few reviews I read in those links, the MX1000 may be the best choice for me. Not sure what would make the G7 worth $30 more. Besides, I don't like the idea of having to swap batteries every day or 2, and it looks like the MX1000 battery actually lasts significantly longer, as far as I can tell.

When I purchased the G7 off amazon like 2 days ago there was no $20 mail in rebate for the MX1000, so that probably would've effected my decision. Also, the two batteries that come with the G7 means that you won't run out of battery life even if one battery lasts for only 8 hours (just keep swapping and charging). Also, I read some reviews on amazon about the MX1000 failing after around 6 months and that also veered me towards the G7. Despite all of this, at the time I bought the G7 it was only $9 more, so now after the $20 mail in rebate it would probably make my decision much tougher.

IMO, better than a desktop laser mouse as no flat surface is necessary.

I have the Ultra Professional and the MX1000. It's a pretty good combo imo.

Also, can someone tell me why the G7 costs more than the MX1000? It looks like it's just got less buttons and a more annoying battery system.
